November 8, 2014:
Before the OU v. Baylor game in Norman
On November 8, representatives from Josh Heupel’s The #14 Foundation will be collecting monetary donations for The 14 Foundation’s Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive around Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium prior to the OU/Baylor game.
For 14 years, The 14 Foundation has held their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive to provide Oklahoma families-in-need a free Thanksgiving meal as well as a week’s worth of groceries and other pantry staples. In the first year of the food drive, the 14 Foundation was able to provide meals and groceries for 50 families and has since fed more than 10,000 Oklahoma families. They hope to be able to feed 1,000 Oklahoma families in 2014.
Donors can get a free koozie courtesy of Laird Hammons Laird and the 14 Foundation.
Josh Heupel started the 14 Foundation, exactly 14 years ago while still a student and quarterback at the University of Oklahoma after seeing firsthand the needs of many children in Norman.
Laird Hammons Laird is proud to support The 14 Foundation in all its endeavors.
“On a personal level, I feel connected with many of the children The 14 Foundation helps,” says Laird Hammons Laird Founding partner and Josh’s former teammate, Chris Hammons. “I come from the same background as many of these children. The food drive at Thanksgiving give these children hope of a better time and hope for the future. The issues being dealt with by The 14 Foundation strike close to home for me and I know it is a worthwhile goal.”
